Who is Punk 'N Peasant Pierogi?
Hey, Pierogi Punks! I’m Brandy, the owner, dough maker, and full-time pierogi pincher behind Punk ’N Peasant Pierogi. What started as making pierogi for family and friends has grown into a small-batch food business built on heritage, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
I grew up in Pennsylvania coal country, surrounded by Slavic roots, Pennsylvania Dutch influences, and generations of family who worked in the food business. Pierogi were more than just something to eat. They were comfort, tradition, and a way to bring people together. After moving to Maryland in 2018, I found myself missing the foods I grew up with, so I started making pierogi at home. Turns out, that little piece of home was just the beginning.
Tradition with an Attitude
So, what does Punk ’N Peasant mean? It’s where my love of punk rock meets the humble roots of peasant food. Punk is about doing things your own way, challenging the ordinary, and creating something real. Peasant food is resourceful, filling, made by hand, and passed down through generations. Put them together, and you get comfort food with a rebellious edge.
Every batch of pierogi is made from scratch in small batches, bringing together old-world inspiration and a willingness to experiment. From classic comfort-food favorites to bold, unexpected savory fillings and sweet dessert pierogi, we honor tradition without being afraid to break the rules. No mass-produced shortcuts. Just handmade pierogi, carefully prepared with real ingredients, creativity, and plenty of love.
